In-Person Fellowship

As a Pathways to Equity Fellow, you will gain:

  • Hands on, real world experience with a community partner

  • A self reflective practice

  • A network of practitioners with your shared values (your tribe)

  • A launchpad for your leadership

We will accomplish this through:​

  • Workshops from local subject matter experts and national industry leaders

  • Funds to implement community-based projects

  • Your commitment of 2-4 hours a week to build relationships with community partners

  • Peer to peer support and learning

  • Leadership from mentors and ongoing support

 

Workshop topics include: 

Building our Community, Language setting, Empathy techniques, Allyship, Community Agreements, Self-Reflective Practices, Trauma-Informed Design, Historical Context, Understanding Organizational Capacity, Community Organizing and Power Dynamics, Engagement Strategies, Community Partner Presentations, Team Building and Collaboration, Metrics and Evaluation.

Cost

Your Firm Paying? 

Sliding scale from $2,000 - $4,000 and receive recognition on all materials 

 

Paying as an Individual? 

Sliding scale from $450 - $1000. In kind contributions will also be considered. 


*We acknowledge that we live on and benefit from Ohlone land. A portion of tuition will be contributed to the Sogorea Te' Land Trust.

What we ask of our fellows:

 

  • To devote up to 20 hours of workday time over the duration of the 6 months with the additional time being on nights and weekends. 

  • To be present for in-person gatherings on:

    • January 26th and 27th

    • February 8th and 9th

    • March 14 or 15 (TBD)

    • April 11 or 12 (TBD)

    • May 16 or 17 (TBD)

    • June 14th

Qualifications and Eligibility:

This program is open to professionals who want to learn more equitable design practices in any field. We welcome a broad range of perspectives in our cohort: architects, urban planners, designers, community development experts, artists, and social workers.
