P2E Virtual 

Pathways to Equity Virtual is a series of interactive online courses and presentations guiding participants through various processes and best practices of community design including curated readings, baseline definitions, resources, and exercises.

Audience 

Pathways to Equity Virtual will be 20 chosen practitioners, or aspiring community design practitioners committed to self reflection and prioritizing lived experiences of partners and community members within the design process. Ideal for those working in or around the design of the built environment looking for introductory level discussions about equity.

Program Structure 

Four modules of 2 sessions each take place from Nov. 4th 2019 to February 3rd 2020. Virtual sessions, or classes, take place once every two weeks on a Sunday or Monday evening with a duration of 1 - 1.5 hours.

Participant Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand what community-based practice is, its values and examples of projects

  • Learn and define language for community based practice

  • Understand personal identities and our role in this work

  • Build greater understanding/perspective of the history of our built environment 

  • Learn about a range of community engagement methods/techniques

  • Learn how to gather and tell stories with the community

  • Understand what to evaluate, how to craft an evaluation form, when to administer

  • Understand building community partnerships

Cost

Each module is valued at $55, with a discount of $20 if all four are purchased at once for a total of $200.
